For these ten minutes, nothing is required of you. We are practicing staying here while something unresolved remains open.

Place your hands where they naturally rest, without arranging them perfectly.

Feel both feet meeting the floor beneath you.

Let your shoulders hang in their ordinary position.

Let the jaw be loose enough to feel its weight.

Thoughts will come through, because that is what minds do.

You are not here to stop them or push them aside.

When attention drifts, notice it, then come back again.

That small moment of noticing is the part that counts.

Let attention rest with the breath as it already moves.

Stay with the simple movement already happening in the body.

Thoughts keep arriving. Getting lost is not failure.

Seeing the drift and returning is the repetition that trains attention.

Feel one hand on its surface. Choose one small contact area.

Where exactly does pressure become no pressure?

Stay with that edge through four separate sounds.

After each, has it shifted, sharpened, widened, or blurred?

Sounds pass. Return to the same edge.

Feel the hand again. Let the next sound come.

Bring up one unresolved answer, decision, result, or reply. Find the first picture or phrase.

Find the instant attention leaves the edge and goes there.

The matter and the hand can both stay in view.

With it in the background, find an ordinary object tied to something you can do now.

Touch it, or trace it with your eyes. Find its first physical movement.

Look again. Identify the first movement of hand or body that begins it.

Come back to the breath already moving, then feel fingers, toes, and body.

Let the sounds of the room return, and open the eyes when ready.

Notice what you saw about where your mind goes when something remains open.

When this pulls at you today, touch one nearby object and begin the first physical step of a small task.

Let the mind be exactly as it is as you go back to your day.
