For the next five minutes, nothing is required of you. We will remain with a live result long enough to inspect one more piece of evidence before changing direction.
Put attention in your hands where they meet the lap, desk, or each other. Find one exact edge of pressure. After the next out-breath, check whether that edge is in the same place.
Let the breath arrive without changing it. Let it leave. Keep the hands in view, and let the room remain as it is.
Bring up one recent message, changed plan, or opinion. Use its exact first line, or the exact moment it arrived. Do not improve the wording. Meet only what was there.
Find the first place in the body that changes when you meet it. Trace the border of that change. Where does it stop, and what is immediately beside it? Let the hands remain in contact.
Now bring one actual window from this week into view, if it is available. A result, a draft, a sales figure, a craft attempt, or feedback. Keep it plain.
Find one thing it shows that you would still have to admit if no praise or criticism were present. Then find the exact place where the result ends, and your added explanation begins.
Stay with the same piece of work. Find one thing you can check before changing course, a reply, a number, a version, a date, or a direct question.
Find the smallest check that would show a difference between this direction working and this direction not working. Keep the plan in view while you choose the check, not a replacement.
Do not move to a new direction yet. Let the chosen check remain exact. What would you see, hear, read, or receive before the direction could be judged differently?
One more contact with the result comes before a new direction. The fact has its weight. The explanation can wait for the next observable look.
When a message, result, or opinion arrives later today, take a small second inhale, then let one long exhale leave.
Touch its exact wording, locate one fact it points toward, and take that one look before selecting a new direction.
